Internship opportunities
The Optical Biology PhD programme offers students outstanding opportunities to undertake both internships and career transition placements with our industrial and academic partners, promoting their career development and providing them with attractive post-PhD prospects.
Internships with our industrial and academic partners are 3-month placements that can be taken at any time during the PhD and are designed to provide students with particular skills required for completion of their PhD.
Career transition placements are undertaken at the end of the PhD (after the PhD stipend has finished) and provide flexible funding for students to experience work in a different employment setting, such as science policy, non-research positions in industry or publishing.
